#write31days ~ Day 18: Fall Comes to California

Finally! We woke up to thick, thick fog this morning and I couldn’t have been more happy. We got a nice rainfall yesterday which cooled off the temperature and left a bit of moisture hanging in the air.

Today we had planned a trip to Apple Hill for another run of all things apple and to pick up a few pumpkins to decorate the porch. We went in early September, but with the 90 degree temps, it felt like anything but autumn. At last, the leaves are a’changing and there’s a chill to the air.

Lucie ran around the patch excitedly stopping at each pumpkin and yelling “pun-kin!”. It was the first time we heard her use the word. Absolutely adorable.

Evey searched the patch over for the cleanest one {our little neat princess likes things to be tidy}, which wasn’t easy considering the hard downpour the day before. Most were covered with a nice film of dirt along the bottom from the splashing rain. But she succeeded!

The girls were delighted to have Gram along for pumpkin picking! {‘Pumpkin’ (Grandpa) was there too, but he didn’t end up in any photos. 🙁 }

I was also delighted because we got a family photo! ;o) These last three are courtesy of Gram.
